The basic tracks were originally prepared with Raoul V as accompaniment to a small exhibition of artwork, memorabilia & photography relating to our contact & interaction with the likes of William S Burroughs, Coil, Derek Jarman, Mr Sebastian, and others - as well as our work together through the 1980s and early 90s as Act of Faith. As part of the exhibition, a selection of material from interviews with the subjects was played in the gallery so that they could in effect be heard to “speak for themselves” with regard to Art, Magic(k), and Sexuality. In the case of Coil, Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson very kindly provided the recording of an Interview (with ‘Radio Inferno, from 2001) for us to excerpt material from. The phrase “Musick That Heals You Of Time” was one that I had originated to describe our response to certain kinds of trance-musics, from drone to gamelan to ritual drumming, and Geff responded to it enthusiastically in our last communications. I hereby offer it as a suitable title for this piece that is dedicated to his and Peter’s memory. As a cheeky 'nod-and-a-wink', a couple of sound elements within the track are sampled from the same original source material that Coil themselves used for on-or-two early compositions... Acknowledgement is due to Emma Doeve, without whose advice, encouragement and support this project would not have been completed. This 'New!
